The complete first season of Homeland

Carrie Mathison her quest to root out a terrorist conspiracy to attack the United States when Homeland returns to Showtime for a second season  Last years season finale left all sorts of questions dangling about her and the rescued Marine and former Afghanistan prisoner of war she suspects of being an Al-Qaeda agent.

Just dont expect the Golden Globe-winning psychological spy thriller to give up those answers any easier than it has revealed its deep-abiding secrets so far. Peeling back all of the layers of deception in the show from the creators of  and The X-Files takes a keen eye, and the three-disc Homeland: The Complete First Season  is a way to get clued in before the new season starts. The episode show is loosely based on the acclaimed Israeli series Hatufim.

The story is set in motion in the first episode when a Delta Force raid on a stronghold of terrorist Abu Nazir Navid Negahban finds Marine sergeant Nicholas Brody, believed dead for eight years alive in the rubble. Politicians and Mathisons CIA superiors quickly anoint Brody a war hero. Mathison however is convinced that he is the American POW that she had warned was now under Al-Qaedas control.

She urges her bosses to put Brody under constant surveillance, but her bosses flatly refuse and tell her further pursuit of the matter would jeopardize her career. Her only ally is former boss and mentor Saul Berenson Mandy Patinkin but he can protect her only so much from their skeptical boss David Estes David Harewood
