Messmer, who was evacuated during the fire, watched Sunday as Norris worked her granddaughter Kayla Carinegar's 6-year-old horse, Chisim."I'm sorry if watching this is like watching paint dry, or if my talking is boring," Norris said. "But all this is very crucial."Norris slowly coaxed Chisim into a small, metal trailer in the middle of the Latigo corral. "You got to be patient, it's going to be his decision to get in this trailer."Whenever Chisim stopped dancing, Norris "popped" him, as he called it, by planting a sturdy whack in the horse's shoulder or hip area.
